Sounds Like Summer by Six de los Reyes — The Summer Storm Setlist / A Book Playlist

Hi readers! Last Friday I published my review of Sounds Like Summer by Six de los Reyes where I talked about how much I love this book. The book came into my life at the perfect moment and really had everything I love about a great romance novel. That is how this book playlist came to be. I also like to call this playlist the Sounds Like Summer — Summer Storm setlist. It mixes all those great summer, beach, music, and a full moon by the ocean vibes. Lux and Micah spend the perfect weekend together at the Summer Storm music festival with lots of live acts playing outside by the beach and I tried to incorporate all of the vibes of that into the playlist.

As I spoke about in my review of this book, Lux — the protagonist of Sounds Like Summer — deals with depression and so when I made this playlist I considered how that’d play into it. What I decided was that this book playlist is definitely focused on the adventure and excitement that Micah and this weekend at Summer Storm awoke in Lux. This is a playlist about being brave and enjoying and celebrating the bright moments that appear in the middle of the dark stretches of time that are often a reality for those with depression. This playlist is playful, romantic, hopeful and about that feeling that might arise when you look up at the moon as it lights up the night on a perfect summer night. However, the book playlist doesn’t shy away from the fact that there are moments that might make you feel down despite the excitement and happiness you are surrounded with.

Sounds Like Summer means so much to me, and I hope this playlist does the book justice. I hope you will take the time to listen to it and to check out this book on Goodreads and perhaps purchase it at AmazonBook Depository, Barnes & Noble, or The Ripped Bodice. You won’t regret it.

This Sounds Like Summer setlist can be listened to on Spotify or YouTube. These songs are about Lux and Micah’s weekend together, their feelings for each other and of course, the best parts of summer, the beach, and music festivals. I hope you’ll like these songs as much as I do and that they either make you reminisce about the book or read it for the first time.
