Hi, there world travelers and fellow book slayers! I’m here with a wrap-up post for June, maybe a bit late but it’s here nonetheless. June was a great month for me. My summer vacation from University started, I got all As on my assignments, I went to Gran Canaria with my mom, I saw Arctic Monkeys live, and lastly, I read lots of books. In June I read 12 books which feels like a personal record of some sort. I talked about what I read during my vacation in my blog post Books I Read in Gran Canaria. However, I got more read during the month than the books I mentioned in that post so I thought I’d list them all here together with my ratings of them.

24 Romance Novels By Authors of Color That Cost 2$ Or Less
Hi everyone in the galaxy and welcome to another blog post of mine. This time it’s all about cheap books, romance novels by authors of color to be exact. If you know me you know that I love ebook sales and diverse romance novels. Anyway, I made this blog post because I have a lot of romance books on my kindle (a lot I’ve read, a lot I’m just dying to read soon). Because of this, I decided to put together a small list of romance novels that are 2 dollars or less on Amazon right now. However, remember that the price is from the American Kindle store and if you’re from somewhere else the sale might not apply to you and/or your country might add taxes which will make the price a bit pricier for you. I hope you guys understand.
Without further ado, here are the romance novels on sale. I’ll mark the free ones with a star (☆) so that you can make sure to grab those even if you don’t have any money at the moment.
How To Read More On a Budget ✯ A Guest Post by Maria Hollis
Not everyone can buy thousands of books every year to read or can easily access a library where you can find these books available for everyone. It can be quite upsetting to see your friends reading all the cool stories while you just stare at their Goodreads status wondering if you’ll ever be able to read that one book you are waiting eagerly for. People probably see how much I read in a year and think that it’s impossible for them to read even half of what I read, but that’s not entirely true. So I’m here to try to help other readers who may live in this same budget situation. Trust me, I know how it is when you can’t find anywhere the books you want. When I was a teen we didn’t have all these ebooks options out there for us so I feel like maybe the options aren’t as clear for everyone else who is in need.
Because there are options! And I’m going to share how I get to read as much as I do now.
Freebie Friday #9
Happy Friday my readers!
How are you all doing? I hope this fine day is treating you just the best, which is exactly what you deserve. This week I’ve been working hard on my English grammar course so there hasn’t been a lot of time for blogging. But, it’s Friday today and you know what that means, is that a drumroll I hear in the distance, FREE BOOKS! This week the two free books I’m recommending are Caught Up in Love by Mia Black and Counterfeit Dreams by Sasha Ravae. Both of these two books are adult romances written by marginalized authors. They have great ratings on Goodreads so I’m excited to read them. Check out the books below.
Remember guys, the books I recommend are free the moment I publish my post but I can never guarantee they’re free for long so once you see it, grab it! That’s what I do.
Freebie Friday #8
Hi guys! Welcome to another Freebie Friday and free books. I know I’ve been been posting a lot less these past few weeks, but I’ve been trying to catch up this last week or so. It’s been fun. I missed blogging a lot. This week I have two free New Adult books for you. The first one is Let Love In by Melissa Collins and the second one is Ode To The Queen by Kyleigh Castronaro. The first one is a romance college book, and the second one is more fantasy and Greek Mythology themed. Read more about them below.
Remember guys, the books I recommend are free the moment I publish my post but I can never guarantee they’re free for long so once you see it, grab it! That’s what I do.
Let Love In by Melissa Collins
What would happen if you lost everything? If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change?
Madeleine Becker lost everything when her parents died when she was ten years old. Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again. The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can’t get hurt if she doesn’t fall in love.
That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy’s pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world. Maddy’s inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.
Together they find out what happens when they let love in.
Ode To The Queen by Kyleigh Castronaro
Do you love Greek Mythology, Romance, Greek Gods, Olympians?
Explore Mount Olympus with the other Gods as 21st century adults find themselves the vessels of reincarnated Greek Gods.
Savannah has been kidnapped. By a man who claims he’s a Titan and she’s one of the Greek Gods. Except, she doesn’t know who her Goddess is and no one will tell her. So, it’s a little farfetched and she wishes it isn’t true but the evidence is piling up against her.
While left to figure it out for herself, Charlotte is happy to make her life a living hell and the friends she does make turn to enemies. And then there’s Aidan: the arrogant and mysterious King of the Gods. Savannah finds herself drawn to him despite her best efforts not to get involved with another guy. She doesn’t need this kind of trouble when her life is already upside down; being a Goddess is hard enough.
When a Titan tries his hand at repeating history, Savannah finds herself swept up into a plot straight out of Greek Mythology. She learns to make sacrifices for the ones she cares about as she tries to save her fellow Greek Gods and Goddesses.
Driven by fate and a past she knows nothing about Savannah must navigate her new world as one of the Greek Gods Olympians, learning to be her own heroine. Will history repeat itself or will the New Olympians write their own myths?
Are you interested in reading any of these two books? Will you be getting one of them?
August 2016 Wrap Up
August has been a great blogging month for me, I posted x posts all together and have gained a lot of new friends in the blogging community. As August is the last month of summer I have tried to enjoy as many day as I can, especially since I just started university again earlier this week and I have to focus on that. On Friday I leave for an 8 day vacation to Mallorca, Spain and I cannot wait to enjoy this beautiful island all over again. Since Sweden didn’t have much of a summer this year then I’ll definitely make the most out of this week. Updating will be a bit slower than usually but I still have a few posts scheduled for you.
Lets summarize August, now shall we!
Books Read
As you can see I’ve only read two books this month (I think I’m unfortunately in a reading slump) but I have reviewed them both and the reviews are linked below.
Books Reviewed

Freebie Friday #7
Hi guys! Don’t you just love Fridays? I know I do. I have a statistics exam tomorrow, on a Saturday yes, but I’m trying to stay calm and just think about all the books I can treat myself with afterwards. Maybe I’ll try one of the following books, they seem just great. This week the two free books I’m recommending are Let Me Be the One by Lily Foster and Six of Hearts by L.H. Cosway. Both are New Adult books about romance.
Remember guys, the books I recommend are free the moment I publish my post but I can never guarantee they’re free for long so once you see it, grab it! That’s what I do.
Let Me Be the One by Lily Foster
Running away can be a good thing…
From the outside, Darcy Donovan’s life seems perfect. She’s beautiful, intelligent, popular and dating a guy who is every girl’s dream. But nothing that seems perfect ever really is. A year abroad is her escape—a chance to put some distance between them and also a chance to leave behind the shaken, insecure girl she has become.
Tom Farrell has been waiting in the wings, watching as his friend screws up a relationship with the one girl Tom considers out of his reach. An entire year passes with Tom making changes in his life; changes he hopes will make Darcy see that he’s the one worthy of her heart—that he should be the one.
Let Me Be the One is the first book in the Let Me series intended for readers 18 and older due to mature content. The Let Me series is a collection of stand-alone stories. There are no cliff-hangers but the books are inter-connected as characters are introduced that may feature in subsequent story lines. If you are a fan of Happily Ever Afters that come only after the characters struggle, stumble and sometimes fail…then you will laugh, cry, occasionally cringe, and ultimately fall in love right along with them.
Six of Hearts by L.H. Cosway
Step right up and meet Jay Fields: Illusionist. Mentalist. Trickster.
I think in triangles. You think in straight lines. I show you a table and make you believe it’s a chair. Smoke and mirrors, sleight of hand, misdirection. I trick and deceive. But most of all, I put on a good show.
The world thinks I killed a man, but I didn’t. Bear with me. It’s all a part of the plan. Revenge is what I want. I want it for me and I want it for her. I want it for all six of us.
She doesn’t remember me, but she’s the reason for everything. She’ll be my prize at the end of all this–if I can hold onto my willpower, that is. Maybe I’ll slip up a little, have a taste, just a small one.
So go ahead and pick a card. Come inside and see the show. Look at my hands, look so closely that you can’t see what’s happening while you’re so focused on looking. I’ll be destroying your world from right here in the spotlight.
You’ll never see me coming until it’s too late. I’ve only got one heart, and after I’ve pulled off my grand deception I’ll hand it right to her. So, sit back, relax, and let my girl tell you our story. You’re in for one hell of a ride.
Freebie Friday #6
Good morning, good day or good afternoon (depending on where you are) my fellow book lovers! Isn’t it just amazing that we are all over the world, connecting and talking to each other with one thing in common, books. I’m grateful to have found so many kindred spirits through my favorite books, and in many ways that’s the best part of being a reader.
We have another Friday on our hands *dances around with my books* and I of course have more free books to recommend to you guys. This lovely Friday is just getting better and better. This week the free books I’m recommending are Crush by S.R. Silcox and Melt With You by Addison Moore. These two are both young adult books and when I found them I was just delighted. The first book is a contemporary coming of age where we have girls liking girls. The second book is a young adult romance that takes place in the 80s which is just the coolest. Read more below.
Remember guys, the books I recommend are free the moment I publish my post but I can never guarantee they’re free for long so once you see it, grab it! That’s what I do.
Crush by S.R. Silcox
Summertime in Chesterfield means two very different things for teenagers Tess Copeland and Maddie Lambert.
For Tess, spending time with family and anticipating the annual Crush Festival goes hand-in-hand with the country air and the sweet smell of a cane fire. For Maddie, Chesterfield offers an escape from the demands of a reality that she’s just unable to run from.
This summer, however, there is one lit fire that’s even harder to contain than the massive bonfires that characterise the town’s summer spectacle, as young love and awakened passions smoulder in the shadows.
Amidst the turmoil of growing up and the pressures of youth and fame, can these two young women navigate the precipices of adulthood unscathed? Will Maddie and Tess be able to overcome the secrets of a small town and save the beloved festival before it’s too late?
Find out in this touchingly sweet coming-of-age tale from SR Silcox–grab your copy today!
Melt With You by Addison Moore
Junior year is really shaping up to be something. After three years of trying, I finally made the cheer squad. And on the last day of summer practice the demigod of Glen Heights High, Joel Effing Miller, finally notices me—right after he runs me over and lands my leg in a cast. Yeah, junior year is really shaping up to be something.
I swear I didn’t see her. But I’m making it up to her every way I can. I’m driving her to school, helping her to all of her classes. I’ve never met anyone so down to earth—a girl who actually likes the things I like. Melissa Malinowski is a breath of fresh air. I can’t stop thinking about her. I swear I didn’t see her, but I should have. Melissa is too beautiful to miss.
My name is Kelly Masterson, and nobody messes with me. I’m Joel Miller’s girlfriend. So Joel ran Mouse-akowski over with his truck. So what? He should’ve finished her off. And now he wants to break up? As if. Nobody breaks up with me. Joel is mine, and he’s going to stay that way. And after having a nice little chat with his mother, it’s become clear why he’s bending over backward to please that human speed bump. I’ll make sure Mouse-akowski understands this, too. That will be the end of Joel and his nerdy little plaything. My name is Kelly Masterson, and nobody messes with me.
Freebie Friday #5
Ladies and gentlemen, and everyone else too, in case you hadn’t noticed (which seems impossible) we have another Friday on our hands *drumroll* and I have more free books to recommend. This is my fifth Freebie Friday, and if you’ve missed one of my previous ones you can check them out here. If you’re lucky some of the books are still free!
This week for Freebie Friday I have two young adult books for a change and I’m really excited about that. They’re quite different but lovely, we have Holding On by Rachael Brownell which seems cute, a tad bit sporty and has two guys the girl is torn between. The other book is Introductions by C.L. Stone which is about a girl from a troubled home who finds comfort in a group of boys that has secrets she can never know. Holding On I haven’t read yet, but am dying to, whereas Introductions is actually one of my most fascinating reads from last year. Read their synopses below.
Remember guys, the books I recommend are free the moment I publish my post but I can never guarantee they’re free for long so once you see it, grab it! That’s what I do.
Holding On by Rachael Brownell
For five years Becca has been struggling to hide her feelings for her best friend, Brad. Now she finally has a chance to move on. She’s in a new city, she’s attending a new school, and she’s met the first guy besides Brad who’s held her attention in a long time. Not only is Ethan attractive, he’s an amazing tennis player, and he might just be Becca’s match on and off the courts.
Brad has loved Becca for as long as he can remember. Now that Becca’s family has moved two thousand miles away, Brad may finally be ready to lay his heart on the line and do whatever it takes to hold on to Becca.
But is Brad too late? Or will Ethan’s secret drive Becca back into Brad’s arms? Torn between her love for Brad and the promise of something new and exciting with Ethan, Becca has an almost impossible choice to make, the choice between letting go or holding on.
Introductions by C. L. Stone
With an agoraphobic mother and a barely-there father, Sang abhors the isolation keeping her in the shadows. The only thing Sang craves is a fresh start and to be accepted as ordinary by her peers, because for her being different meant being cast out alone.
When her family moves to a new school district, Sang infiltrates a group of boys nearly perfect in every way. Grateful for an influence outside of her parents’ negativity, she quickly bonds with the boys, hoping to blend in and learn from them what it means to have a natural relationship with friends.
Only the boys have secrets of their own and they’ll do anything to keep her safe from the knowledge of the mysterious Academy that they’ve sworn allegiance to. Bit by bit, Sang discovers that her friends are far from the normalcy she expected. Will her loyalty change when she’s forced to remain in the dark, or will she accept that she’s traded one house of secrets for another?
Meet Kota, Victor, Silas, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke and North in a story about differences and loyalty, truth and mystery, friendships and heart-throbbing intimacy.
The Academy, ever vigilant.
Freebie Friday #4
Happy Friday my readers!
I hope it’s a good one, and if not then tomorrow is another day and I have a few free books that’ll hopefully make it at least a little bit better. To be honest, sometimes when I don’t know what to do or just feel down I love going on Amazon to look for free and/or cheap ebooks. There is nothing like book shopping to brighten your mood, am I right? One day I’ll have to show you my kindle library, it’s enormous and mostly unread, but you know what they say, you just can’t have too many books!
This week for Freebie Friday I have two books from the The London Lovers series. The series currently consists of five books which can all be read as a standalone. The ones I’ll recommend here today is the first and the third book in the series, Becoming Us by Amy Daws and London Bound by Amy Daws. Both of these books are good old New Adult romance books that you just can’t get enough of.
Remember guys, the books I recommend are free the moment I publish my post but I can never guarantee they’re free for long so once you see it, grab it! That’s what I do.
Becoming Us by Amy Daws.
The dreaded friend-zone…
The last place I ever want to be with college basketball God, Jake LaShae. I am losing my mind trying to figure out what this gorgeous and confident man wants from me. I need to break through his walls. What is it about me that makes him not go there? What am I lacking?
When a mind-blowing betrayal knocks the wind out of me, and I think I can’t feel any lower… Brody stumbles into my path-barefoot no less, and sexy as hell. His direct and mouth-watering swagger is a breath of fresh air. The feelings this man gives me are like nothing I’ve ever experienced.
But Brody has a past.
A past that makes it nearly impossible for him to trust me and let us become us in whatever capacity that may be. Just when Brody and I truly connect, just when I think that finding my soul-mate in college isn’t a total joke, Jake comes back into my life… and messes things up… possibly for good.
London Bound by Amy Daws.
When Leslie Lincoln, a spunky, red-headed American, suffers an awkward moment with an arousingly-sexy British man—she thinks her life can’t get any more pathetic.
She’s done with men.
She doesn’t need them.
She especially doesn’t need their muscular thighs. No siree, she’s going to forget all about the brooding, complicated, and seductive “Theo” who captivated her on the dance floor of a London nightclub.
Keep telling yourself that, Lez…
Immersing herself into a new type of romantic cleanse, Leslie thinks she’ll never lay eyes on Theo again. But somehow, he’s managed to bulldoze his way back in—her cheetah-print onesie pajamas be damned.
He wants more. She wants to run. But he can’t seem to let her go. Both of them have a past—and neither want to share. How can love possibly survive in darkness?
